Don't sell your boats just yet! Gag grouper is off of the table and it looks like we may have figured out a way to avoid a red grouper closure and still keep a bag limit of two fish. There were more recs than coms and we hammered our point all day. We sat on the front row with our red hats, CCA badges and the council had to look us in the eye for 9 hours as testimony was given. When we agreed, we nodded our heads yes. The council saw this. When we disagreed, we nodded our heads no. The council saw this. We made some gains today, but the battle is far from over. Sarasota in July will be packed with longliners and the battle will be heated. WE MUST HAVE MORE PARTICIPATION FROM THE RECRATIONAL SECTOR!
