Bay Boats

Looks like I may have sold my Hell's Bay and I am going to get a bay boat. l looked at the Sea Pro 2200SV and really liked it but I have seen some good pricing on used Pathfinders 2200. Give me your opinions on these 2 boats and others that you have experience with. Want to keep the price around $25,000.

Having ridden in both, I would say for your 25,000 you can get a whole lot more boat in the the Sea Pro than the pathfinder.

My advice would be careful looking at the Pathfinder it's set up nice. Good prices lead to bringing home boats probably too big for my yard or truck.

I love my Pathfinder 2200V. Can grouper fish when I pick the right day, and be back redfishing in a foot of water before the day is over.
Don't know about the other boats, but I feel that is tough to beat.
Dry, fast, comfortable, stable, range, what else do you need?

I found a Key West 22' bay last year and really liked it and the price was right but I didn't sell my boat in time. Not many on the used boat market and new they look kind of pricey.

I love my hell's bay for shallow water and If I could afford it I would keep it and get an offshore center console too. That is not an option. I'm hoping that the bay boat will be more versitile, offshore grouper, troll for kings at mexico beach unless some of you know where they are off Saint Marks or Keaton Beach, and still drift for trout around the bird racks. I think I will probably miss the inshore fishing, Up the creeks and around the shoreline and will get a beater boat for oyster bar jumping. Like that boat in F.S. dreamboat. Might try Chalks idea and build it myself. Saw boat plans for one like it on a web site. Stitch and Glue construction. What do you think Chalk?

I wonder if these pathfinders were hurricane casualties, engine got wet or sunk, if not the one with the T-top is what I want. anyone know anything about the V-max engines. They run them on a lot of bass boats up here in Ga. but i don't know about salt water.

Building a boat is a love hate relationship...You'll start out loving it and end up hating it....Don't think you can build a boat to save money either....
You can buy a Micro draft from Capt. Henderson rigged and ready to go for around 6,000 and up or you can build one...It's something you have to want to do....I do it because that's just me, I could have bought a new Action Craft for what I have spent on tools, materials, etc....
But when your done, you did it....Who else can claim to have rolled their own?
BTW...I prefer the Pathfinder myself, only thing I don't like is there is no room for gunnel mounted rod holders for trolling, at least I never see any on the boats I looked at....
