Bait Fish Have Left So....

Does it follow that lures that mimic these fish will be less effective? I guess it could mean that these lures would be more effective?
Any thoughts?

That is a good question. I'm gong to wait it out till spring. It is believed that the bait have moved into deeper water.

The bait is still present just not in the same numbers as the summer and in different locations.....deep holes and channels are holding bait....
Nothing better than a rattling minnow in 3 ft or less on the flats from March to May....except maybe a Shedog

I've been wondering how the new Storm Suspended Swim Shad would work out in these areas. I've had some luck with the standard swim shad bouncing it on the bottom and wonder how I would do with a suspending one. They are new but I havn't heard of anyone using them. Any ideas?

I just ordered 3 of the new Rapala X-rap suspending baits. I'll let you know if they do any good.

Sammies are Lucky Craft lures...very expensive but nice. There are lots of knock-offs for cheaper and, they do make "walking the dog" very easy. Great action. Sorry, I think we kinda derailed the topic.

Since I started this thread I've been doing some digging around (old Florida Sportsman Mags, searching archives ect.) and have come to the conclusion that it really doesn't matter that the bait fish are in less numbers. The artificials just need to be presented a little differently.
So perhaps the same lures just deeper and slower until the warm water brings the bait fish back in numbers??
