Gate width.....

I got to do some fence mending, the gate is in serious need of help....Since I'm more or less replacing the panels and gate, how big should I make it? 8 ft or 8.5 ft, any boat bigger than that will stay somewhere else

12.ft double swinger you will be glad you did. Wider than the boat ramp. From what I read you will need it

What ? That 36 ft boat your building is going to be awful skinny !

Straight...I measured it, it is 10 ft now so....I guess I should stay be 10'

10 is about the smallest I would go with, 12 can be nice to have at times

The opening, between the posts, of my gate is 11.5' now. I'm going to make it 2' wider. You can't make it too wide.

I went 12' (gotta turn), but now they're paving the road, so my swing is smaller, and the dropoff is deeper. That said, the gate is plenty wide, now I need a new culvert pipe.
