Myself, iknownutin, Mako and Nathan left the Fort about 0800 to try and find some fishes, well we did not do to good.. :smt012 Are friends at NOAA were mistaken again, 5 - 10 and 2 - 3 I think not. More 3's for sure at short intervals, made anchoring most of the time nasty, so we tried the drift in 30 feet. We were drifiting over good bottom and Nathan caugt a nice 16" Sea Bass on a jig and the others caught a couple but that was it, no Grouper. When we came back in we saw a boat that left just before us and they had a limit. :smt013 of course they had to go to 55' for that, shoulda went to Keaton, at least I would have had a head sea out instead of quarter outa St Marks. Still the company was good, was good to meet Ben and Nathan.

It was good to be out there, at least. Wish we had caught some fish, but no way we could get deep enough to do so. Nasty day, for sure, and plenty of salt spray in the face, but good company made for a good day. Thanks, Don, for your hospitality. Good to meet Nathan and Mako as well.

Better luck on the weather and the fish in a few weeks!

When you all passed me on the way in, you gave me the "thumbs-down" signal, and that sopke volumes. at least you had some great company and covered some new territory. Too bad the seas were kind of mean.... I would have liked to been onboard for the ride.
