Nope, like I said he shot that fish with his spear attached to a floatline with what looks like aircraft cable. The spear was not attached to his gun. I would imagine there is a another floatline just out of the picture since it looks like he put 2 spears in him.
If you guys want to see footage of how this works you should watch Offshore Adventures on ESPN. The had an episode a few weeks ago where they were shooting wahoo and tuna like this.

It should have with that azz shot he made on him Tom..trust me...the only ballz it takes to shoot a fish with a freeshaft is the $ you spent on the shaft. I have chosen to freeshaft many large fish in midwater to avoid the asskicking if I didn't stone them.
