Had some free time on Saturday so we decided to hit the lake!
Father-in-law to be and my friend Billy tagged along.
It was windy!!! The water was full of red mud!
We tried to fish some structure out in the lake.....but couldn't stand the wind.
It warmed up after lunch, and we found a cove to hide in. Kicked back with some cold beer....slung corks, threw jigs, and just enjoyed being on the water.

Billy caught the only fish....but it was a monster! about 2.5 pounds...

There were a ton of bass fisherman on the lake and everyone we spoke to hadn't had any luck.

This was the first time pulling the boat with the new truck....all I can say is WOW! Averaged 14 mpg.....there was some highway driving, but mostly hilly back roads.

Sounds like a good time was had by all, despite the wind

That's a nice spec. Is the water always that color? Looks like good jig fishing water.

The lake stays pretty muddy.....but we've had a ton of rain here. (unless you ask the weather man, he says we're 2" behind)

We were jigging on that spot. But, the fish bit a live minnow on the bottom. About 22 feet deep.

We have better luck in the Oconee River than we do the lake.
In about a month, the white bass and crappie make their annual run.....it's almost like fishing in an aquarium!

Come on spring!
