A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Have been mainly fishing out of the econfina river back east to rock island, this saturday planning on going toward the aucilla river, has anyone had much luck in that area?
Yes! My dad has been exiting the mouth of the Econfina and heading toward Aucilla. You can see the marker at Econfina from where he fishes. 3 ft. of water and I mean it's just barely out of the Econfina! It's just a little flat grassy bottom that he's been catching reds and BIG trout on. He uses live shrimp on 1/4 oz. red head jigs with the pink and white grubs. He'll be there this evening and tomorrow. Just look for a 17ft. aluminum Fisher when you head out toward Aucilla. Don't tell him I gave away his honeyhole. I've been doing the Rock Island thing too. Next trip I'll more than likely head towards Aucilla or put in at St. Marks.
