The Aucilla Strikes Again

This is late, but it's my first post so I deserve a little leeway. February 26th, a fishin' buddy and I tried out the redfish for the first time this year. Trouble struck at the ramp. It was low tide when we arrived, so I backed off the end of the ramp. Stupid me, I tried to juice it coming out to get the trailer back on the ramp. This is the aftermath...
You can tell from the smile that I was happy about something. I figured that since we had driven from Georgia down to the coast that morning, nothing was stopping us from fishing. I proceeded to drag the trailer up the ramp and park it like I didn’t almost tear the wheels off and severely bend the neck. I’d like to give a special thanks to the six guys that helped us load the boat and trailer into my truck. That wasn’t any of you guys was it? I didn’t get their names, but they are much appreciated. Off we go a fishin’.
The reds weren’t as cooperative as the trout that day. The total for trout was about 15 up to almost 4 lbs (no measurements but I’m serious about the weight). We only boated two reds. I had several strike almost underneath the boat, as they tend to do sometimes. Of course, those usually pull off, and these were no different.
We threw spoons and mirror-lures and caught fish on both. It was very windy that day, so jigs (DOA’s) were tough to work with. All the fish were caught in the creeks around oyster bars and all were released. It was a great way to start off another year of flats fishing. I can't wait to get my trailer out of the shop (it's still in there, and it's killin' me). Here’s a couple of the smaller trout and the reds….

A busted trailer true sucks 
Most all of us who fish the Econfina/Aucilla have at least one STORY and one insurance claim to document it. Thanks for the report and if any of those folks who helped you are readers of this forum.... THANK YOU. 
Meanwhile, the axle was still in the water. We couldn't help laughing so hard we almost died, although driver buddy was not amused. 
We got some wire from the wormy old guy that ran the original bait shack and tied the axle to the frame, them limped back to town.
