Saint Marks 03/30/05 (Part 2 with pictures)

Well I’ll try to add and fill in since Rodbow left me to tell the details. We launched at the Fort and were on the water about 10:30. The parking lot looked like a weekend! :o Even with low tide at launch time there was plenty of water and we ran out just past the Light House, then turned East. We saw a couple of groups of pelicans diving on something and we decided to try a drift in their area. Rodbow started throwing a large chugbug and I was using a red glitter grub with no CT or jig head. (jumptrout51 style) :D
Rodbow had some swirls at the topwater almost immediately, but no hookup. The birds were continuing to dive and feed and we kept repositioning our drifts to cross the spots where the activity seemed to be but we were never able to find what they were feeding on. Rodbow finally had a nice trout hit the topwater close to the boat but he came off after just a few seconds. I had one legal on the grub but tried to swing it into the boat without netting it ….. but I must have hit the “quick releaseâ€

You can always count on Sir Reel for a good story. And some of this one even seems to be true. Not bad for a couple of Chrome Domes.

Picture are nice SR, but the story is better- nice flow to it.
It's good to hear y'all had such a good day- the kind of day we all like to have.

Chrome Dome- It's been a long time, since I heard that term. If it wasn't for a few widely scattered hairs, it would describe me.
Oh, to be young and handsome again,... Well, how 'bout just young..

Good report, thanks. Keep'em coming.

Good job on your report, Sir Reel! Nice mess of fish you got there - that big one is a 'beauty', they all are.

I hope a lot of us get to try our luck this weekend. I'll be on the look out for Rodbows chug bug.

Good going you two.

Now that's how to tell a story.... not a fish tale.

Good report, can't wait to get on the water again.

Looking at Sunday

That's great, Bud. Glad yall had a good day. That area has done well this year. How was the water color over there? It is stained and real dark over Econfina way.
