I was just looking for a way to throw it without putting the line in my mouth, and this looks like the ticket.

Looks like if you don't catch all the bait with one throw you're going to get wet for sure. I guy showed me how to do it down in MS a couple of years ago and I'll be darned if I can remember. I know I was throwing like a pro in a few minutes. I'll have to get one and see if I can figure it out.

That Calusa video is good, can you get pins in them things, are you just got to find the bait schools then try.

I know if you cast net pinfish on the flats it will make a huge mess in the boat. Your better off to just catch them with a hook and line or a trap.

Don't ever let your net go all the way to the bottom if you don't know what's down there. A small oyster clump will cut a net like butter. If it falls around a half buried rock...dive time or kiss that net goodbye. A quick yank will close the bottom of the net without it hitting the bottom and trap your catch before they swim out.

Casting works best over sandy areas where you can see the bait fish....no mess in the boat. Also in deep water when the bait is running the surface.

But whats a little mess in the boat for free bait and more time for the real fish ! :smt023
