Grouper Wednesday

An excellent day of fishing with Captain Brian Smith and Little B.

We left the sea buoy at about 730 after some debate about the approaching storm system. Winds were 10 and seas 2to 3. We ran to 40 feet and caught several. Wind and seas seem to hold and not getting worse so we headed to 65 feet. Spent the day between several spots. We stopped at 3 pm with 21 groups in the box. We caught only 2 while trolling a spread of 4 stretches.
All the rest were caught on dead bait and a bonito which was caught on a stretch.
A very nice catch and a excellent day of camaraderie with an excellent captain and mate.

I will revisit my picture posting skills and send in a later post.

Uncle Dave

Brian is a great guy to fish with. Loves to fish and it shows. If anyone wants a great offshore charter, check out the guides page for his info and tell him you saw it here.

Good report on a nice catch, Unka Dave.
Looks like the bite was good before the storm- Great timing.

Qoutrage,

Excellent trip and catch. Your input on wx help make the decision to go.
If I remember correct, on Monday, you predicted the squall line and front on late wed. or Thursday. And so it was.

Thanks,
U. Dave
