We finally took the project boat out and tried some fishin from it

I guess you could say it was a good day for testing, was met at the ramp by 1 foot white caps and the wind was blowing a steady 15 mph

We launch and head to the first drift area, to get to it fast, you have to cross a shallow sand bar "exposed on low tide", the nephew swears it'll run in less than a foot of water, so we go the fast route "it never touched bottom

made several drifts picking up a short here and there

then decided ta try a flat a little further out, water depth of 2 foot and I'm idleing out and the nephew says punch it, she'll get on top

so I do, and it did

"shot a shower of mud up though"

go out to the next flat and half way through the drift I land a 19 incher, throw back out and I land a 18 incher

that was it for our keepers. Drifted it a few mor times with no bites, then checked the foot depth while running WOT, we will have to raise it another 2, maybe 3 inches for optimum heigth. WOT is around 40 mph at 5500 rpm and the ride is smooth and dry
