I am planning to purchase a good pair of polarized sunglasses. I do mostly freshwater and inshore saltwater fishing. I'd like to here what sunglasses you guys prefer and recommend. I want something that I can also wear for everyday driving. Comfort is also a concern.

For the money Ocean Waves in the backwater green lenses cannot be beat. But after I've broken 3 times and finally lost them in 78 feet of water, I decided the 11.00 walmart Renegade glasses work just fine for me.

For that price range Maui jims or Cost del mar are very good ones. You still need to decide how often that you loose or break sunglasses before you throw down that kind of money. My costa del mars have lasted me two+ years, but i take real good care of them and always wear a sunglasses keeper. Just my 2 cents worth

For my reckless self I go with Renegades from Wal Mart. My wife don't get as mad when they fall overboard or I sit on them.

blue tint costas, # 1 , awesome , i've had mine for 2 years ! They are glass and don't scratch easy. Awesome fishing glasses !

I wear renegades as well after breaking a few pair of Rayban's, but slide a pair of Costa Del Mar Fathoms on and tell me which you like....Father's day is coming and my request for a pair of Del Mar Fathom's with green mirror has been placed

I just recently used a gift certificate to purchase costa-Triple Tails. Up until then walmart supplied....

I just returned from fishing in Punta Gorda where most often I was on the boats poling platform looking for snook. I think the costas and probably the other expensive ones are a little better but I haven't had time to scratch the glass yet. The renegades were lighter and even a little more comfortable wearingh for full days, but the reflective stuff wears off the outside after a few trips. I would probably spend my money on something else other than sunglasses.

But then of course you won't look like the guys in the boat ads w/out 'em.

I just bought a pair of Renegades from Wal-mart. I'm suprised at how light and comfortable they are. I think I'll try these for a couple of months before I spend the money on $100+ sunglasses. It's hard to beat $9.99. They had several lens colors. If they hold up well I may go back and get a few others colors for various fishing conditions.

You are lucky you don't have to purchase prescription lenses for your sunglasses. I use prescription polarized lenses in a set of Flexon frames. Neither the lenses or frames come cheaply..... I lost two pairs in the surf 4-years apart. It was an expensive lesson X2. That ain't gonna happen again.

I have been using the Renegades also, they are by far the most comfortable sunglasses I have ever worn. However, the model I used to buy they no longer sell. They fit my face perfect (no light coming form the sides) and were very light. I bought another Renegade that is similar but not quite as good a fit. Used them once and will keep trying them to see if I like them. Am strongly considering buying the Costa Del Mar Wave 580 Swordfish to see if they are as good as people say. Don't usually spend that much on Sunglasses but I have read a lot of people say how much difference the Wave 580s make. Also the Kaenons seem like a good choice, but I have not found them in a store to try them on yet.

Best thing to do is goto a store and try them on....I walked into a sporting goods store in South Carolina a few weeks ago with my Renegades on and tried on several pair of Costa's....I put on a pair of blue mirrored Fathom's and the guy said try the 580....There is a difference, but they only come in gray with no mirror...I like the mirror, my wife can't tell if I'm sleeping

Try them on, that's the best way to tell what you will like or not...
