We struggled through a tough day of grouper fishing today out of Carrabelle. Lines wet by 8:30 a.m., spent the day north and west side of O tower. Pods of bait were visible every where and marked some great bottom holding fish with the bottom machine, just very slow bite. Ended the day with 4 keeper grouper to 27", 10-15 throwback grouper, 1 - 30" king, 1 short snapper, a doormat sized flounder, and half a box of grunts.

Caught everything on cut bait except the flounder, who decided he really needed a 3 oz. grouper jig.

Can't wait til next time.

No, we didn't have any live bait. The bait man was out and we didn't have any traps out and didn't stop to catch any. Not sure how much it would have helped. I've never had much success when the seas were as flat as they were yesterday. I believe you need those 2-3's to keep things stirred up a little.

I heard that , there is alot to be said for a grouper chop. And I think that live bait is worth the time to get and makes most of my trips. 8)
