Keaton 5/7 - 5/8, off and inshore

Left the house at 0 dark early for the drive to Keaton, made one stop to pick up a new co-worker I did not know enjoyed fishing, ouch the pressure is on now as I have limited marked areas, and I am taking someone out with us.
When we made it to the public ramp you knew it was going to be busy as the forecast has not been this good for awhile. Made the 30 mile run to the 60 ft mark for a couple #'s that had possibilities, either no one was home or feeding time was wrong, was about 8:30 when we stopped, however no one home, there were another 1/2 doz boats within sight, and alot of good bottom, but no luck.
Made some moves throughout the area, stopping here and there, but was not looking good. Decided to put a pin on a flap line and see if something would happen, and sure did not take long for a shark to snatch it up. Well some kind of action and sure better than nothing, with lines clearing to avoid a total mess.
OK, enough of this, lets move into 55ft to one # I have and see if anyone is home. Anchor up and finally there is some catching going on, getting grunts and some short reds, but at least some action now. Finaaly first one with a keeper is in the box.

Then the son gets one, and I am thinking ok, they have one, but thats OK, I am the host, and If I catch a keeper then OK. Son gets his,
and then -------
we finally get a nice keeper, the only one but no big deal.

Ended Saturday with a bunch of Grunts, a few Grouper, couple sharks.

Sunday, fishing on Mothers day, no way.. :biglaugh: but the wife wanted to go out so who can argue with that, conditions could not have been better. Catchin was slow, real slow.. A few short here and there, not much water movement made it tough overall great weekend...
