:-D Took a old friend of mine and his 11 year old boy out saturday. It was his boy's first trip to the flats and I hoped to show him a good time. :smt005 Launched at 8:30 there wasn't much water ,but once we got out it was slick as glass. Hit a spot near the mouth nada. Joined in with the crowd near annother of my spots nada.Tried every color of the rainbow with and without the float. I could not find what they wanted. :smt011 Announced myself and hailed forum members on 14(no responce) tried again on 7(again no responce) :smt012 .I hoped that someone could tell me what the secret lure of the day was. I had the chance to introduce a new person to fishing and he was getting frustrated, hell I was to. :smt013 Decided to go to aucilla and try, nada. Decided to head back towards Ecofina at 11:30, finally some fish were hitting the box. :-D But it still was slow going, However the boy wore us out. He caught 4 of the keeper trout. :thumbup:Color of the day was white grub with a pink curly tail, or anything with pink in it . The water was dirty everywhere. A net malfunction lost a 24" or better at the boat. :smt013 We wound up with 9 keeper trout 16-18" in the box and a first, a flounder. I had hoped for a limit but it didn't work out. Could not find any good grass has it not really grown that much yet? Was anybody there that heard my hail? :smt017

Good try on on the catch for sure. Sure hate to hear the net malfunction.

At Keaton Sunday someone called the marina and asked about the grass, the answer was all the 5 - 7, and 6 - 8 seas they had been having as the cause. :-?

 :thumbup:Good trip, for sure. I don't think the grass has grown out much yet, water is too dark. There is a little, we get hung on it fishing grubs. There was a fair amount at Keaton on Sat. but we had to hunt it, was spotty. Where the grass was the trout were, big and small mixed together. Water much clearer at Keaton.

It seamed to me that when we caught fish it was in areas with a little floating grass. :-D Anybody else here go to Ecofina sat? How did you do? :-D
