I have been using the bottom rung Hummingbird fish finder for several years. Recently the bracket broke and the transponder banged behind the boat for the day and now it is not recognized by the electronics. I will probably end up buying a new unit but wonder if it is practical to keep the electronic portion and replace the transponder. Will any transponder work and does anyone have an old one I can try?

What ya got? I have a bunch of old Humminbird stuff here "from a 100SX to an expensive 2000" I probably got one that'll work

I can bring the transponder to work with me tomorrow and you can come by and get it Florida Chamber of Commerce 136 South Bronough "across from the Park Ave. Post Office" I'm here from 7 to 2:30

I was just going over those GIS prints ya gave me Skag them ten spring vents that you pinpointed will come in VERY handy during the summer for cooling down and the winter for some hot fishing

Once it cooled off last evening I got busy installing the new fishfinder hookup until the mosquitoes ran me in. I plan on being on the water Friday and will give it a try. Very much appreciate your assistance.

I would like to print you a nice view of your home waters - will try to get that done next week.

The locations of the spring vents came from an old Florida Geological Survey document posted at the DEP springs website. Then I added a couple of vents over to the east based on experience. They can be real productive during the winter not to mention close to a ramp.

Thanks again, Wevans. I circled Oyster Bay on Friday and caught some small reds and a flounder. Having a functional depth finder makes a big difference.
