Birddog gave me a call looking for someone to out fish and I accepted the challenge  ....

Arrived at Presnell's at day break, looked over yesterday's catch pictures, someone brought a 6.5 lb trout in on Saturday...

Birddog arrives, I throw my stuff in and off we go to BigT's redfish hole..Nothing in there but a short trout and alot of mullet, big mullet....

We head down to Birddog's redfish hole...BD lands a short red a few minutes after our arrival....I'm throwing the third skitterwalk in have bought in a weeks time towards the grass....All of a sudden a small tsunami out of nowhere forms behind the skitterwalk and crashes down on top of it....FISH ON...After a short battle the bronze bomber swims into the net....22.5" redfish on topwater, truly a form of fishing erotica....

Image

Me and a skitterwalk seem to have a problem or I'm too strong for my line, because I threw and broke the line twice, sailing the lure a good 100 yards away from the boat, but my fine guide, being the birddog he is, fetched it for me... :-D

We played around in the back of the bay for awhile, then head to cork sling'n land looking for a trout....In short order BD lands a 20" trout, I loose one, then hook into another 20" trout on the new "Secret Weapon II"...

Birddog's Trout (poor shot, blame me)

We headed over to where me and Tincan fished last week and had a few strike's and caught a few "ski" trout and some catfish on topwater...

We quit harassing the them at 1200 and headed to the hill....Another great day on the water, thanks for the ride BD...

Some waders came and weighed two 6.5 lb trout, while I was cleaning the fish...

Very cool! And thanks for the pix, too. But, um, chalk.... I don't know how to tactfully ask this, but, um, isn't that first one really from one of your Aucilla trips?

That's Pig Island in the background, only launched from Aucilla once in my life and it wasn't yesterday...

Pay no attention to what Chalk said about Pig Island being in the background of that picture. That was Pig Island.

That's the Northside of Black Island, to be specific...

Nice report!
 Those 6.5's opened my computer squinting eye balls.
Any #'s on their length?

Got me wondering what kind of line you use?
Suwanne Swifty or EZ Serve?

Oh yeah, I think I used to be quite an advocate of P-line, back when I actually fished.
Actually, I do still use it on my metal Penns because they can't quite handle the pick-up on Power Pro.

You must have been really slinging to break 12lb. :o

Both broke at the knot, one was probably caused by the redfish, the second one is still to be debated, might still be that the redfish had nicked it...but for a copolymer line, I wasn't happy.....

Chalk, you're hearing me but you're not listening to me. Thats the west side of Pig Island.

After a second reading of Chalk's post that may be the north side of Blacks Island.
