Make sure you go to garmin's website and get the latest versions of software for both Mapsource and your GPS76. If you have a newer version of mapsource 6.5 or better, then use th.gdb files. If older then use the .mps files. MPS files can be opened by any version.

Thanks Tom, I have the current updates, however i do not have the current blue charts v7.0. Mine is 5.0 any way to get version 7.0 without a unlock?

You shouldn't need the current bluecharts to get the waypoints. They aren't maps, they are just waypoints. If you have Mapsource version 6.5 you can get either file.

Hi, I needed to convert the GPS list to a .USR format (Lowrance)
I found a free conversion program called:
GPSBABEL 1.2.5 web site:
http://gpsbabel.sourceforge.net/ Look under the download section to the left of the page.
I don't really know anything about this company use at your own risk. The program is easy to use. Try converting GDB and MPS in the conversion block one of them should work.
It did the trick for me. Tom Keels if you read this I can send you a copy of the waypoint list in .USR format (Lowrance). Just email me if you want it.
