Looked at the weather sat night it said 2-3' and 5-10 knots, so I called a buddy to go for sun. Got up that morning checked the forcast again and it said 3-4 subsiding to 2-3 by the afternoon

. But it was foggy and still so we decided to try it. JR's is closed on sun now so we didn't get any shrimp. All you guys that looked at the forcast and stayed home, kick yourself now

The weather man must have been hungover because it was dead calm all the way to 2:00!!!!!

But that was kind of bad because not much water movement and almost zero drift speed. The water was stained everywhere we went. The fish are real scattered and we had a hard time getting the ones we did. No magic color today, but they favored anything with pink or glitter in it. With and without a cork. We were in my buddies boat so no temp or depth( it said 279' most of the day)

But somewhere between 5 and 12' all day. Wound up with 7 trout from 15.5" to 18", about 30 14.5" trout(several that had bites taken out of them), several big blues, and a couple of tough fighting jack like fish that I have never seen before. All in all a good day of tough fishing.

We did pretty decent Sunday. We were fishing the Jerry,s bait and tackle tournament, and somehow we both managed to over sleep so we hit the water around 9:00am. We caught a bunch of shorts, and around 15-20 keepers with most being under 17in. We had a 24,22,19,2-18's and the rest were 17 and down. We also caught 3 cobia to 30in and 9lbs, and numerous other species. It was HOT and slow drifting so we had to move alot to keep our sanity

One more decent trout and we woulda been in the money, but maybe next time.

Sounds pretty good for not finishing in the money FM!

What method/lure was most successful?

Sir Reel, we mainly fished grubs on the bottom. Several colors were working, but a pearl glow with a chartreusse tail worked the best for me. It was a heartbreaker because I new we were close to the money but we could'nt get that last 19in or two in the boat. We came in 6th and they pay 5 places. I think there was less than a pound seperating us from 2nd place so it was a pretty tight field.
