A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
This will give us something to talk about during the middle of the week.
I'll start off by saying I don't have a lot of choice with the cable system I'm on, the only outdoor channel I have is "The Outdoor Channel" . Of course I like "Spanish Fly" and "Walkers Cay" on Espn. But recently I saw "Addictive Fishing" on Sunshine and thought Capt. Blair was cool. Also saw "The Chevy Florida Fishing Report" that was good also I thought.
What do ya'll like?
Also some of the commercials(especially bassfishing ads) seem very annoying to me with all the "fastbeat-hipitched-techno music" and all the video flash.
For those that have dish, Sun Sports pretty much has all fishing shows all afternoon and evening. I've always liked Capt. Rick Murphy I can't remember which show is his, I think it's sportsmans adventures or something. He is pretty entertaining. The chevy fishing report is really cool but you have to sit through the whole state and of course the big bend is underepresented which is good I guess, less fishing pressure. There sure are alot of new shows it seems thats a testament to the sports growing popularity and our growing population here in Florida. I also really like Ship Shape TV unless of course its the episode where he shows you how to wax a runabout or he's working on that ugly aluminum boat of his.
Only seen Fl. fishing report once but Big bend was on there. They said this area from Steinhatchee to St. Joe Bay .Capt Pat Brooke out Steinhatchee gave a report and made mention of fishing around Keatons and Spring Warrior and also Rock Island area. So I geuss that would partly cover it. But that was only the 1 time I saw it a couple of weeks ago.

I like Capt Rick Murphy as well, everything Tom said, Inshore Fishing Techniques, Fishing the Flats, pretty much anything I can find once the wife and kid are asleep. God Bless DVR.

Am I the only one who finds Mark Sosin irritating....I like all those shows...and I watch occasionally but he seems to talk down to folks. I like Spanish Fly and Chevy Fishing Report the most...more like friends sharing info than proving what they know. Just a thought.

Rest assured you are not.
I saw him actually give a cool tip the other week though. He had a big bullshark on and it was running at the boat (flats boat) Mark stomped on the deck really hard with his foot and the fish veered away, never pulling ole Mark's line under the hull.

As a lead-in to the weekend I like the shows that come on Thursday night. Saturdays and Sundays are too valuable to be watching and I wish there was more coverage during the winter months.
The Florida Fishing Report I like since it reports current conditions, has a mix of features and brings me back to my old days on Estero Bay / Rookery Bay. Almost nothing on Apalachee Bay though (maybe a good thing).
Mark Sosin provides good instruction but needs more of an in-shore emphasis.
Big Bend Angler has a bad air time but with more use of maps (maybe a bad thing) and more 'lessons' has great potential. And as it turns out I frequent the sponsors (especially Jerry's).
Mark Sosin is very informitive to me, tho he is not my favorite show. He is not really annoying to me but a lot of his shows are fishing for sharks near shore. Which I find less than intresting.
