Taking the family to Cape San Blas this weekend. Have been there twice - once we fished from the beach and the other time we were out with a friend in his boat and three young ones so I don't really remember where we fished, etc. Can anyone make some suggestions?

When we get back I will try to post a couple pictures - assuming we have reason to take pictures

If you really mean Cape San Blas proper then I'd say the stump hole. Use as many rods as you can sand spiked with live baits and cast another with artificials. If you're there with moving water, especially eary early, it's a great spot. The sand spikes make it an easier beaching kind of trip. I'd suggest the same strategy off the park beach too but the fishing should be better off the stump hole.
The oil docks are good for tarpon & spanish at first light.
When the tides get really low a tourist trip on the flats at Eagle Harbor is amazing -like a trip to the zoo. The new Mexican restaraunt in town is really good.

I was down there a couple of weeks ago. Fished the bay for trout and had a great day. My son and his bud fished the gulf a couple of days and caught some sand trout and whiting, but mostly cats.

I always launch at the state park. Going out from there i make a left and head down the coast about 3 miles and fish the inside grass patches at the state park itself. Usually i catch enough and good variety of fish in this 4 mile stretch never to have to go anywhere else. Good luck... frank
