Andybody have any experience getting a used boat shipped in from another state?

Scenario:
On trailer
from SW TX - somewhere w/in 8hrs of here
2500lbs approx

thanks 4 any input. Did a 1500 mile round trip to VA last time to get my boat, and gas, hotels, food, and truck fixing on a Sunday in Brunswick might have cost as much as airfare (wet-test) and/or shipping via truck.

Happy 4th.

There are some hauling companies on the internet that will give you a quote....What I consider SW Texas is more than 8 hours for me...It took me 13-14 hours from Panama City to Corpus Christi.....

I'm making a 2200 mile round trip to pick my boat up in a few weeks...I'm figuring around $600-$700 to get up there and back.

I'm looking at those on the internet....

w/in 8 hrs refers to the distance I would be willing to drive to once the boat was shipped out of TX. In speaking w/ the shippers it seems that an approach of "whenever your in the area, and coming back thru this surrounding area" is the right approach. A request of "go get it, and bring it" = Too much $.

Chalk: Good luck on the drive. I went to N. VA for mine from Tally...probably cost $500 in gas/hotel stops/food. Buy a good book on CD  $40.
