I finally got the chance to go fishing yesterday! We put in at Aucilla around 7:00a.m., and headed out to find some reds.
Pretty slow for a while, but I convinced my Captian to move us to one of my "honey holes".
We started catching small trout, then they left, and the reds showed up. We each caught a nice red, then each lost a GOOD red. Then a 5' shark showed up right in front of our creek mouth, and everything shut down. He went to attacking something, couldn't tell what it was, but it was neat to watch.
All the fish relocated while he was there, so we did the same.
Trout fished for a little while, nothing but shorts, so we headed for the hill.
Caught the reds on shrimp, and bone diamond grub.
Talked to the man at the hill, and he said he caught a 40" red on top water last week. :o I asked him where, and his exact words were, "right out there" :-D .
Good to be back on the water.

It probably wasn't as rough in the creek as it was where we fished. The wind blew all day, but fishing was good once we found some. Congrats on the big reds. Blackened red for supper, eh? :smt004

We fished offshore, as well as the banks. You're right it was rough later in the day.
Had some friends over for dinner last night, and they all wanted fried. I do have a hankerin' for some blackened. :-D :lick:

I run from St. Marks to Aucilla in the Pathfinder, but I'm not brave enough to launch there. The jon gets launched from there, but not the Pathfinder.
I fished with a buddy that has a Duracraft yesterday...much more condusive for the terrain if you know what I mean . :-D
