Bottomline Customer Service/Questions re Chartplotter, T-top

Follow up from when I reported a couple of months ago that my Bottomline 480 Tournament depthfinder was not working. Sent it to Bottomline on a Friday. By the following Thursday the service department concluded that mine had been a factory defect and they sent me a new one. Works fine now (I had a problem with the unit always showing 1.7 feet no matter where I was). About a week after my fishfinder was returned, my handheld GPS died...Lowrance said send it back. Had only used it three times. It is a new model and I am hoping it was just a fluke. Will report as to Lowrance service but the good news is that Bottomline was very responsive. Now thinking about a Garmin or Lowrance chartplotter...any suggestions or experince for a unit in the $500.00 range??? Also...has anyone had a T-top made from that place on Woodville Highway near St. Marks?

Look at the Garnin 172 Chartplotter. Look at the price at http://www.getfeetwet.com .

I stopped at the place on Woodville Highway and asked the guy about building a leaning post. He made it clear he didn't have time to mess with boats any more. Wound up at Pro Welding in Sopchoppy. First rate folks.
