Just curious what you mainly fish for in the Big Bend. Down here in Lauderdale it varies from snook and tarpon to sail and dolphin. I am still looking forward to a monster red one day but I have yet to see one down here. What do you guys mainy go for when you go out?

I fish mainly from St. Marks to Suwannee, but sometimes out of PC and Destin.

Inshore - Trout, redfish, cobia, spanish

Offshore - Grouper, Snapper, AJs, Kings, dolphin

Zman,
I moved here from Miami. It is a big change, some for better, some for worse. We do not have the luxury of the gulfstream so close like home, but we also do not have the crowded waters and the concrete shoreline. Redfish come easy after you learn what they like and where they roam. You have to put your time in on the water. I can share what I know. Come to the next meeting. For now, try the cuts arround St. george and Dog Island for the whoppers. The shore line arround rocky bottom or grassy islands for keepers.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's always cool to see what people target in different areas of the state. I used to fish Lake Michigan as a kid so seeing these sailfish and tarpon down here was pretty amazing. Still interesting to see what others are catching.
