Key Largo 180CC?

Any thoughts/experiences with this boat? I may look at a 2004 for sale. Some of the posts on hulltruth.com say older models stay wet (water over the transom). But they also say newer models seem better.
I also understand that Key Largo/PalmBeach uses wood rather than fiberglass in construction. That doesn't bother me so much if the boat is well-built.

I have a Cape Craft 170cc that we are very happy with. I think it is made by the same company in Douglas, Ga. that makes Palm Beach. It should ride dry for you and take some fairly rough water. Hope that helps.
We got a great deal on the boat with 75 hp Mercury. If I could change anything about the rig I'd want a 90 hp motor.

Have a 2003 Key Largo 206, and I can honestly say its built like a tank. Not sure about the samller ones, but we stay pretty dry. Wood if just fine if sealed correctly, and I do not see an issue with these.

d, you and I must have the same tastes in boats. I remember you advised me on Triumphs, too. Thanks.
I haven't seen any of the Key Largo 190's and 206's, but the Palm Beach versions look good.
Are Largos different in anythng but name? A Largo salesman told they just have a few more standard options than Palm Beach.

Is a 427-pound motor too heavy for this 1,650-pound boat (Key Largo/Palm Beach 181/180)? The motor is a 115 HP Suzuki 4-stroke.

50 lbs heavier than a 2 stroke..
Guess it should its rated up tp 115.
