Keaton Offshore 21 July 2005

I went out with my dad, brother and family friend yesterday for a day of grouper fishing. We fished for bait until 0830 when the tide stopped. We caught plenty of bait, punched in the first number and throttled up into slick seas. We hit 40' and started to drift. Caught a few grunts but nothing worth anchoring for. Went out to 50' and the same thing. This pattern continued until we were hot and disappointed with the bite. We did catch one short red. The bite never happened and we tried everything except trolling :smt012 . Maybe we'll gettem next time. I need to take lessons from Stockwell. :-D

Under the new limits you weren't far from limiting out...maybe you'll get that one red next time and have your limit.. Eventually all will come to like redfish in florida, 1 each...
