St. Marks 7/23

First real attempt at saltwater fishin' since Dennis - and boy has it changed conditions down there. 
In at the LH at 7:00 am - ramp and channel still seem to be just fine. You could see a lot of debris and grass that had been plowed off of the LH Road. Sort of like a Florida blizzard - only it was sea grass drifts.
Kinda breezy and a little chop that varied throughout the morning. Depended on where you were at and when. We noticed that since Dennis, especially at low tide, there is a lot more visible of the old wreck just out from the boat ramp channel.
Fished east of the LH. Ran around quite a bit looking for fish - in / out, nearer / further. Changed up lures all morning trying to find something they wanted.
Headed back to the East River entrance around 10:30. Fished around the bars and channels for trout and reds.
Never seemed to really figure it out. Good time on the water though. Thinking about fishing the Wacissa for the next month or so - maybe after that long the water at the coast will be back to 'normal' again. Visibility today was more or less non-existent.
Total:
3 short trout and 1 'barely keeper'
Dad did manage the 'birthday fish' - a real nice 21" trout
And one pinfish....
Dad caught the pinfish and as we were putting it in the livewell he put it down on top of the livewell lid. Now...my boat has this 'wonderful' gap between the side of the boat and the livewell. Just wide enough for...say...a pinfish...but not my arm.
That little pin gave one flop and down he slid, into the abyss. We both tried to get it out by squeezing the net or the paddle down in there, but he was gone. Stuck some where between the floor of the livewell and the bottom and side of the boat. So for the rest of the afternoon I'm trying to figure out how bad my boat is going to smell after that sucker starts to rot down there. 
Tried to come up with ways to get him out...even thought about dumping a load of ants down in there to eat him clean. Anyways, after getting home this afternoon, I went and cut a clotheshanger and bent it into a hook to try and scoop out the pinfish. Ended up 'fishing out' the very dead pinfish, an old multi-tool and hook remover (both apparently dropped down there by the previous owner)
