My older brother went offshore on a party boat yesterday, and relayed this report to me.....
I went fishing all day yesterday on a Snapper boat out of Dauphin Island, Ala. (just south of Mobile). I went with a group of about 10 on a 65 foot charter boat to a series of "private" reefs in from 60 to 90 feet of water about 30 miles out. It was a beautiful boat and we caught close to our limit (4 per person) of red snapper as well as some white snapper, B-liners (a snapper relative I have never heard of) numerous triggerfish a few grouper (undersized and had to be thrown back) as well as 1 King Mackerel. My biggest red snapper was about 10-12 pounds. It was a great day and real hot, but the cabin was air-conditioned (with about 10 sleeping berths).
