Couldn't scare a Grouper, Keaton 9/4

Myself, son, co-worker and a bud of his made a late start today, mainly cause the tide times, and water movement during that period, however we could scare more than one short red Grouper for the day. 
Left the Keaton ramp about 9:30 to make the turn into a breezy 15 winds, seas not so bad until further out where solid three's for the most part was the ticket. Was able to make pretty decent speed for the conditions, but slowed abruptly when we came over the top of a swell a drove the bow hard into the next a soaked everyone, or almost as I was behind the windshield.
From 40 - 42 ft on about a 240 heading we noticed a fair amount of dead fish, mostly small except a few which appeared to be out of slot Redfish, and the smell was something else, after clearing 42 or so the water cleaned up.
First stop in 50 ft, and anchored we got beat, fairly close 2 - 3 were not good as our new guest had no interest in fishing
nothing on this stop and move on, catch about 12 grunts, and move on.. Moved into 52 ft, finally around high tide time the seas lowered and all was much more bearable, but grunts, sea-bass, bluefish, and one very nice 37" bull Red, darn forgot the camera was the last for the day.
1 Short red Grouper
40 or so Grunts
1 nice Bull Redfish
Couple Sea-bass
All in all pretty good day cept finding the Grouper.
