Walker Creek 9/5

Headed to the island in the dark this morning saw two sets of eyes in the road. Slowing, got closer and found a full size adult raccoon with a smaller one on the left side of the road. As I drew closer and slower the big one (Mama?) ran across the road and disappeared into the weeds on the right side. The smaller one hesitated, started across, stopped to yield to me and generally fiddled around until I had to come to a complete stop to keep from creaming him into the asphalt. He finally follwed Mama across in front of me into the weeds on the right side of the road.
Not a hundred yards further I saw another pair of glowing eyes. This was one of the little bobcats I saw before, but now I'm not so sure that's what they are. This one looked just like a bobcat, but the tail's too long. A cross-breed maybe?
Did very little with the fish. Overcast with a stiff breeze out of the north this morning made even Walker Creek a little choppy for the Redfishing Machine. Did catch some trout, mostly short, a couple on topwater, most of them on my Yo-Zuri Mag Darter knock-offs. Thought conditions today would be pretty much the same as yesterday and I would limit out on trout in short order and get the car home early for Mama to make a run to the grocery store. Everything happened except the limiting out part. Things were so slow I didn't keep any. Before she left for Winn-Dixie the smart-aleck had the nerve to ask if she needed to buy fish.

Maybe I'll eventually figure out this camera enough to get a decent quality picture.
