I'm convinced the reds bite much better in the morning. Put in at the lighthouse at 0715 and headed east to explore some creeks. The tide was high and still. When the water started moving I started fishing my way out. Found a nice ambush point and sat on it for about 15 minutes. That spot produced 1 red at 24". Moved on to look at other places. Wound up at a creek mouth with oyster bars and rocks. The water coming out of the creek was clear and I could see the fish. I caught 5 reds in the next half hour, three on consecutive casts. The first fish I caught off of this spot was 31". I can't tell you how exciting it is to see the fish, cast to them, and watch them take the bait.
I've had days when I caught more fish, but I've never had a more exciting day. It'll get your heart going when you can see the fish.

That says it all TC. One fish caught sight fishing is worth a dozen fishing blind (not to say that ain't fun either). You guys are wearing the reds out around St. Marks.

I don't think so. I'll give him credit for what I've recently learned. My wife wants his credit card for what I've spent since I started chasin the reds.

Aw heck, you could be spending your money on whiskey and wild women. At least this way you got something to show for it.

Yes I do. My wife says you owe her $10,000. That should cover the cost of the new boat and the tackle I've bought.
