We launcehd the boat at Reeves and tried to start the engine it sputtered and then quit. It wouldnt start after that so we went on with just the trolling motor around the point flippin in the pads. Nothing biting. So I tried the motor again and nothing. By about 1030 I was pretty pizzed and tore into the motor again. It wasnt getting any gas for some reason. After close inspection I realized the gas hose was on wrong. (Arrow pointed towards the tank)
Hooked it up right and pumped it a few times and we were off. We headed South through the narrow boat channel and stopped to fish near the Gator hole. My dad assulted the bream with crickets and I tried my hand at bass. My dad caught 4 nice specs first thing and I hadn't had the first bite. I tried frogs in the pads, tubes and worms flipped in the pads/grass, flukes out in the channel and nothing. We took off and headed further down and came to a huge opening. We fiddled around the edges and some of the clumps of grass with no bites. It was a fun day fishing with my dad even with the motor troubles. He got a few to bend his rod and that makes him happy. We released the specs at the ramp. He and my mother will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary here shortly.
