Lanark 10/9/05

Post by rx fisher »

Got the chance to go out with a old friend and a new friend out of Lanark
we busted out hoping beat the rush and be on the water by 7am, We beat the rush no one there, there was no rush. Went to pinfish trap and collected 3 dozen pinfish headed off shore.

First spot, hooked up right a way, strange they didn't want live pinfish only
halved dead LY's was the ticket. Went through a box and had almost our limits in a hour, caught 3 shorts to every keeper, but the action was none stop, if you werent getting bites you had no bait.

We had many douple hook up and a great time, we did the unthinkable and left the fish biting and went to look for red snapper.

2nd hole, nothing happening, 3rd hole, here we go again, quickly hook up to a red, just short, last red we caught, but grouper where hungry
Picked up the last of our limits, with 5 shorts to a keeper.
Decided to save on the bait and dropped a chunk of grunt on a big jig.

Got cut off once, but I got a 25 inch gag in the boat on my spinning tackle
lots of fun.

Capt Terry, thanks for putting us on the fish, awesome trip and nice ride.
Your 21 angler can sure fly. Great day on the water with old and new friends. No signs of Red tide that we could see.

Now this is a cooler of fish.

Rx:

How deep did you catch those grouper? My 45' spots off Lanark were bare a couple of weeks ago.
