GoneGator took me up on the midweek trip and met me at Jerrys at 0815. Bought some live shrimp and hit the fort about 0900.
Headed east in the not quite fog, but definately overcast, seas less than 2. Water temp 76.6.
Fast drifted the grass falts in 3-5' with a steady wind at 10mph from the NNE. Caught 15-20 or so short specks and one keeper. Candy corn was the pick over shrimp and topwater. Bite quit at about 1100. Headed toward the shoreline w/trolling motor to catch falling tide. Lots of activity at the shore. Only managed a 3-4 lb. Jack cravalle in one foot of water. Good fight. Saw reds, saw bait. No Bite. Couple of sharks and a gafftop. Tried the flats again on the way out. Wind had died down, now out of the E at about 3-5 mph, sun came out. Really pretty but no takers. Back at the fort around 1500.
License check by FHP between St. Marks and 98 on the way home. Thank goodness we had finished the beer, stashed the Crown, smoked the last roach, done the last gagger, pitched the throwdown .22, and left the body at the mouth of the river. Otherwise we'd a been in a world of doo.
GoneGator is a great partner. Hope to do it again sometime.
