Armed with two casting rods, my castnet and my walking stick I walked in off the Live Oak Island Highway for the last couple hours before sunset after I got off work. A few mosquitoes out in the marsh, lots of mosquitoes in the little strip of woods I cut through. Loads of mullet of all sizes around, but they aren't tightly schooled yet like they will be after we get some cooler weather. A few surface strikes, but the action on Catch 2000 and 7M MirrOLures was slow. As soon as the sun set somebody rang the dinner bell for the no-see-'ums. WHOOO-Wheeee. Repellent helped hold the wimpier ones at bay, but it only made the tougher and more vicious ones mad. The water is deffinately cooler wading than it was. One day last week the Weather Radio reported 75 degrees at Turkey Point.

Wound up this short trip with a half-dozen mullet, two nice upper-slot limit trout and got these walking back out......

Probably a lot of ya'll know where this is.






Out of 17 pics, these three came out decent. Tough to get a shot that isn't blurry when the no-see-'ums and mosquitoes are having a riot to see which can suck out the most of your body fluids.

While at alligator point 10/15 fishing trip the water averaged 74.5 degrees. Sunsets are getting awesome. I learned that you need to put the repellent on before the bugs come out....

Yes, that's the moon. I was on the west side of Goose Bay. Walked in from the Live Oak Island Highway. If you look carefully at the right side of the first photo you can see the St. Marks Lighthouse.

To get that far east of the lighthouse from the Live Oak Island Highway and take the picture facing west would have been a pretty long, tough walk.

I thought so. I have been to that spot a few times over the years - gave up some of my own blood there to keep that swarm alive!

Any sign of hogs? I might try to get one out of there this winter, but they have been a little scarce there in recent years.

I tried to get some at mouth of Econfina about 3:30 Sat am but my
batteries in camera were too weak...my bad as I forgot to charge them.


Moon was so bright I had no problem going from ramp at Econfina
out onto flats without a light. I actually got up on plane as soon
as I hit the marsh. That's a great ride on a bright moon!

I didn't think to check until I started cleaning them this afternoon. Five of those mullet had undeveloped white roe. One had sacks of yellow roe. Great bigg'uns.

Haven't even thought about it being near roe time. I live red roe, but it sure doesn't like me.

That White roe is plunb good eatin to TC and don't have the same affect as the Red ones do MMMMMMMMM GOOD
