Met with Seagurl and TK's Father in law at Jerrys at 0835. Put in at the LH, plenty of water in the canal, moderate wind from the ENE.
Went up in Big Cove, good water, temp 59.5. Seagurl gets the first keeper speck, and embarasses us boys.
Not much else happening, we go straight out from Deep Cove with a moderate E wind and drift in 3-4' almost due south of the LH. 8-10 shorts.
Head up to the first bar at the top of the E. River. Water moving some on a falling tide. We were looking for reds, but managed 2 keeper trout, a short silver trout, pinfish, grunts. Caught on some goldish green grub under a CT and shrimp on the bottom. Wind shifted to out of due S around 5-8. No sharks, no DS's, kinda slow. Off the water at 1415.
Very, very good company.

Well that's not good news. I am heading out tomorrow and was hoping to hear those fish were jumping out of the water after this little cold spell. Maybe they were just waiting for me.

Dr. J., you may do better tommorrow. It will be warmer, but the winds are supposed to pick up. I would think that if the tides and the afternoon warmth coincide, you should do pretty well. Most of the wind was from the east today, makes it tough. Go fully stocked with every color you have. I got one good swirl on a 52M, but it was probably short. Good Luck.

If you don't want to see a big fish, then don't fish with Seagurl. She's catching on to what catching is all about. She's not getting lots yet,but what she gets are good.

"Be careful what you ask for"
I'm probably NOT what db had in mind when he put an open invitation online to go fishing
But being a really out standing fisherman he graciously welcomed me aboard his really nice Key West and a fishin' we did go!
His report covered the day in a lot more words than I could of thought to use. The only thing I can add is it was really pretty out, everything looked like we should of done better, but just wasn't our day - score one for the fish!!
I enjoyed the weather, the nice boat ride, the break in the work week, and especially the enjoyable company of two really nice fellows.
Thanks db - hope we can do it again one day
