Finally talked birddog into going yesterday. He really didn't want to fish, but I twisted his arm...

Not much of a rise and fall to work with. Cloudy and raining at 9 finally cleared up around 1 or 2. Found no action on the flats, just a few half hearted strikes, so we headed into a creek.

Found a new spot where we caught 3 nice trout and BD lost a Mongo. Oh well, he's still learning.

Then he nailed a nice 26" red as he tends to luck into. I managed a 23" red a bit later out of the creeks. He caught one more, so I need to tip the hat to him today. As the water was getting skinny! and I had already hit one rock :o We decided to drift for trout. A few nice hits, but nothing bagged.

Nice day on the water, bit chilly, and you had to work to find em. Oh yeah, them 15 knot winds were more like 1 knot in the afternoon. I think the better tides will help. Times are a changin.

We didn't have much luck on Friday either. Got out nice and early. Went to the Rock Garden and caught a couple trout on shrimp and topwater then headed into the creeks north of Stoney Bay to look for reds. Nothing doing. Then back out to the flats. Not much doing - couple more trout. Then out to the Bird Rack. Nothing doing. Then to the west flats. Nothing doing. Then into the oyster bars north of the west flats. One good trout.

The weather broke about 2 PM. The sun came out and it was gorgeous. Worth it just for that.

Strange day out on the water. We were out all day and just caught trout. I can't remember the last time that happened. No reds to be seen.

I think they've moved up into the rivers.

Dr. Jones last weekend I didn't have any luck on the flats. I heard some were catching trout just off the lighthouse, but can't confirm that.

I'm sure you cast right handed and he was all up on your right side holding you at bay, while he flung his little heart out....Tell the truth now.....

:o :-D What'd you have, a hidden camera? I did hear Reel Slow mumble something about wishing he was left-handed. :D

Chalk, I wasn't going to say anythin about that, but since you mention it I did have to ask him to duck so I could get off a cast now and then! May need to sink a few trebles in his left side to get him to move :smt005

That's what I thought, RS....He's alway's telling to come on up there, but I like whipping him from the back seat...I've done it a time or two..
