I was catchin lots of reds and shrimp before the 40 * weather last week then things went dead. My grandfather and I can tell ya its not dead now. We netted 2lb of shrimp at daylite, paddled out to some holes about 1hr before the - lo tide, never woulda made it without the yacht(canoe) We fished an area where the bottom contour varies about 18-24 in. so here we are sitting in the yacht feet over the side on the ground in 6in. of water facing 2.5 ft hole or area, the rods are sporting cajun rattle corks with 10 in of leader a red jig head with live shrimp pined on at the tail. In the first 40 min I had our limit of trout in the cooler woulda been sooner if I hadnt had to take those pesky 16 in. reds off every other cast and the old man could only catch reds :smt007 We had steady action for about two hrs. the larger fish got away two reds in the slot and a trout that was so big all it could do was wallow and roll and get off, the hook would just come out, go figure. we didnt catch 1 under size trout and all released fish never left the water and were in good health. We landed aprox. 40 trout and 25 reds then went back to shrimpin and had 8 lbs of those. Back home at 1:00. Words connot explane the fun my 86yr old g.dad had it was to cool.

I think with these tides and perfect weather any water thats left inshore thats 2ft deep surrounded by real shallow stuff is the place to be
