We launched the Ghost at the lighthouse pool at first light and headed south to a spot we caught a few trout off of earlier in the year. Picked up 1 keeper, and several shorts. Then we headed west to Pattys. Caught 1 or 2 more keepers there. Chalk fussed the whole time we were there because I wouldn't get out and push the boat so he could fish exactly where HE needed to. The water was getting pretty skinny in this area, so we headed out to deeper water. Fished 3 to 5 ft. of water and limited out. Around 11:30, there was enough water to head back in closer. I had to beg Chalk to take me to a spot we found a few weeks ago in the Palmetto Island area. Once there, the last 45 minutes was exciting. We got into good fish. I was catching them on a jig and grub under a CT, with a short leader. Chalk was too stubborn to tie on a CT. I caught 3 in the 20" range on 5 casts. All Chalk managed was 1 hookup on a topwater. It was a decent fish, probably 18". Chalk seemed to think it was in the 25" range. He gets all excited when he gets a bite. It didn't matter anyway. He released the fish half way to the boat. With time running short, we packed it in, left the fish biting, and headed for Jerry's, and the weigh in. We managed a 2nd place finish, half a pound behind Steve and Butch.

A very good day on the water with a very good friend.

He forgot to mention that he begged me for one of my grubs after I caught five fish and he couldn't buy a bite...Nothing about being a grumpy old fart that morning....Hell, it took two gallons of clorox just to clean his mess out the back of the boat...I could go on, but I'll let him bask in his glory...I told him his back should be well rested as many times I have toted him.... :smt045 :smt043 :smt043

We saw a four wheel drive boat on the east spoil island, he was parked on top of it, walking around his boat on dry land :o

Nothing broke, the boat ran great, company was great, only problem was we left them biting, we'll get'm next time partner.....

We all come to a consensus that you look better in the dark.... :smt005 :smt005

We heard all that commotion leaving the pool, you better carry that thing to Tincan he can probably fix it in 5 seconds, he knows that boat inside and out.....

Even though I look better in the dark I still don't have to wear a sun dress to catch fish.....Image

TC and I both know what needs to be changed, we changed it out before with a used part, and now, the used part had gone south, and I know how to take care of the problem without havingTC's help. (BTW TC- Thanks again) I know very well how to make that old girl run like a bullet, and perform like a new craft for years to come, and I don't have to make monthly payments on her . :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Glad you all placed as well as you did in the tourney. Someday I'll join in the competition and you'll both be skeerd... :-D :-D :

Yep, there was about 10 times more fish slime in the back than there was in the front. :smt005

I rested my back today. I'm ready to go again.
