After registering at Jerry's for the NFGFC Tournament, Reel Slow and I hit the LH ramp just before sunrise and just behind TinCan and Chalk. Out the canal and headed east looking to get in a creek before the tide bottomed out. We almost didn't make it.

Spent the day fishing up and down a creek with some decent holes, catching a few reds and trout along the way. A little after dead low we ventured back to the mouth where we could see the gulf. Anyone who has never seen the rock garden on a negative low really should sometime. You will quickly learn why they call it the rock garden. "Moonscape" is really the only way to describe how the nearshore flats of the rock garden looked.

We knew we didn't have any trout worth weighing in at Jerry's so we decided to keep fishing and take advantage of the rising tide. As the water came back we made our way into another creek, picking up a couple more reds and trout. Ended the day fishing the shoreline back towards the LH.

It was a decent day, with a good buddy. Hats off to Reel Slow for putting more reds in the boat than I did. You've come a long ways, Grasshopper

Total for the day:
15 trout to 18.5"
6 reds to 24"
2 reds that got away
1 river otter

Haven't looked at the tides. I want that horse ride you promised me, or maybe just sit somewhere and watch the sun rise.

Enjoyed the day BD - aka Redmaster! Even though we fished it backwards, still caught some nice fish.

Learned a valuable lesson too. He who has hand on trolling motor can't cast. Let's keep taken your boat :-D

Hey Bird Dog-

I was the first boat in the water. I was the one fiddling with all my gear in the pool in that old Key West.... Sounds like you all had a good time.
