11/25- St Marks-
Put the boat in at the lighthouse at 6:00 pm as the sun was dropping below the horizon. Tide was on the rise, and the winds were light 0-5 out of the south water was smooth and 62.5 degrees. Checked the wreck for bait thieves. Picked off a few small Sea Bass. Made a run toward the deep hole in the channel to see if the sheepies had moved to their wintering hole. Caught a couple more small sea bass. It was nice to be on smooth water again. Watched a few falling stars. Put the boat back on the trailer at 10:00pm. On the way out of the park one deer tried to run me off the road, thank goodness I was only running 20mph. Further down the road outside the main gate, and a couple more deep tried to race me in the truck. (I thought it was deer season and the hunters would have already cleared that area.) I guess they saw my boat and figured it was safe to follow me….
11/26- Put the boat in at Spring Creek around 6:45 and puttered around behind Spears ramp area. Wind was 5-10 out of the south, tide was on the rise water temp 62.5. Watched someone catch a nice trout using live shrimp under a CT. I was tossing a jig and tried using some top water. Knada…. Moved out into the inshore flats area where fish finder lit up with fish. Set up a long drift across what appeared to be a good area. Winds picked up to 10-15 out of the east. Water temp 62 on the area. Tried everything in the tackle box had 5 poles rigged jerk baits, jigs, top-water, Jig under CT. Just could not find the “magicâ€
