Left the ramp around 7, had the first keeper in the boat before 7:30
15 minutes later I had #2 in the box
then they shut down. Trolled around that area a bit more, then pointed the bow toward the tower and trolled out to 50 foot, picked up 3 shorts and two Bass trolling out and back to my original spot. Trolled it again from 11 till 12:30 picking up another just barely legal gag, had something hit pull drag then cut me off, 1 new Magnum gone, tie on another and troll some more, the pole bends and the drag screams
damn, must have hung bottom, nope, it's pulling back and HARD
after what seemed to be forever, I finally get to see it, a 30 inch gag
"my biggest yet"
get him in the box and try for #5, go maybe 300 foot and the drag screams again, I'm excited now
but it don't pull back
and try as I may, I left another NEW Magnum in this spot
it's past time for me to be heading home, so I write it off and head in. Water temp. was a steady 51, water was very clean with little grass, a heavy chop but not uncomfortable and I discovered that the Magnum's are a very good trolling lure
I trolled a Stretch 30 on one rod and a Magnum on the other, the stretch caught only one of the fish
and the Magnum cost only 8:95 apiece
Total of 7 gags caught, 4 keepers
two rock Bass, 1 keeper
and only 5 gallons of fuel burned
