Got to the lighthouse ramp at 7:30am Saturday. High tide at 8:30 am.
There was not enough water to launch the boat.
Went to the fort. OK there. However, too little water meant a change in fishing plans. So, off we went searching in a different direction. Up the river, down the river,up a creek down a creek,in a bayou, out of a bayou,up another river, down another river. No fish..no fish..no fish etc.
By then with the incoming evening tide we found them along a oyster bar. In an hour 4 of us boated 50-60 trout and 4 reds. A fast bite that started and ended abruptly.
A productive day on the water exploring some potentially good places for Spring fishing. The clear shallow water made for good scouting.
