Beautiful weather we've been having made me take a day off to go out and "chase the fishies," as I believe the saying goes. Got to the lighthouse after 9:00, water was coming in nicely after the morning negative low. Fished East River and a couple of creeks east of the lighthouse on the rising tide, caught pup reds. They didn't seem to be schooled up, would catch 2 here, then 0 there, then 1, etc. Used shrimp and my super-secret-never-ever-fails spinner bait. The tide died early afternoon, and the bite followed. Took a boat ride up past the power plant to check out a couple of deep holes. Little trout, some REALLY LITTLE ones, were all over the place. A couple may have been keepers, but not by much and they didn't even get measured. Caught the trout on saltwater assassins, bone and chartreuse. Back to the house with a clean boat before dark.

At the request of the man, I kept my eyes peeled for the elusive yellow sundress. No sightings.
