"Commissioners also agreed with special fishing regulations developed by the National Park Service for Dry Tortugas National Park, including establishment of a 46-square nautical mile Research Natural Area in the park where fishing, spearing and anchoring will be prohibited."

.....There are already similiar areas in the Keys that prohibit fishing, anchoring and spearing...I snorkled some areas around Marathon that was that wayPosted: February 3rd, 2006, 12:32 pm
Well nautical mile = 1.15 statue miles, thats still a good size area.
