Wakulla River 2/10

Launched the canoe at Upper Bridge at 7:30. A bit chilly this morning. The water's very clear. Not gin clear like it used to be, but the clearest I've seen since I came back and retired.
Very slow fishing. Picked up one, and only one, keeper on a gold Johnson's Spoon at the first island below Upper Bridge. Saw a bunch of wood ducks at the lower end of the island. Worked my way down to below Cherry Island and back seeing the usual menagerie of bird life and one otter close enough to the bow of the canoe as I was drifting I was thinking, "He aught'er get out of the way."
Gave up around 5:30 and headed back to the house with one keeper and two shorts accounted for.
Very clear water, saw lots of bass, saw a few biiig bass, saw lots of beds, saw lots of bass on beds. Started thinking if I had a gig and no scruples I could load the boat. Thankfully I had no gig and plenty of scruples. Anybody need some?
Also saw loads of mullet. May have to start looking into the bowfishing thing.
