St Marks creek fishin 2/18

Left Tally a little past noon. Ran into a friend on the way down who gave me a mess of fresh mullet. I was not aware at the time just how fortunate this encounter was.
Hit the water around 2:00 with high hopes despite the fog. Made it to my secret creek and started catching smallish reds and some pretty decent trout right off the bat. With the hot start, I didn't even bother to measure the reds who were probably in the 19" range. They were beneath my dignity at the time.
After about 40 mins of fairly consistent action, it was like the big steam whistle blew and it was time to for the fish to take the rest of the day off. I fished pretty hard for another 3 hours and got absolutely nothing, not even a bite. I threw everything I could think of at 'em and went to 3 other creeks.
I even went to my super top secret creek which I only use during emergencies and only under cover of fog or darkness. Not even a dadgum bump! And to top it all off, the fog cleared putting me at considerable risk of revealing the location of what used to be my favorite spot.
So, fried mullet was the catch of the day this weekend. Mama loves mullet and when Mama's happy, 'ol Dad's usually happy too.
All in all a good day and I learned something, just gotta figure out what.
PS Computer problems or I would have posted sooner.
